Job Description :
- Lead the maintenance and repair activities for production equipment used in PCBA manufacturing, including soldering machines, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and inspection equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and diagnostics of equipment malfunctions to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including lubrication, calibration, and component replacement, according to established schedules and procedures.
- Develop and maintain equipment maintenance schedules, work plans, and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Coordinate with equipment vendors, suppliers, and contractors to procure spare parts, components, and services for equipment maintenance and repair activities.
- Train and mentor junior technicians and production staff on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
- Implement improvements and upgrades to production equipment to enhance reliability, efficiency, and performance.
- Collaborate with engineers, production supervisors, and quality assurance personnel to troubleshoot production issues, implement process improvements, and optimize equipment performance.
- Document equipment modifications, upgrades, and repairs, including changes to settings, parameters, and configurations.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and equipment history files.
- Monitor equipment performance metrics, such as uptime, downtime, mean time between failures (MTBF), and mean time to repair (MTTR), and implement measures to improve reliability and availability.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations, and promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance among equipment operators and maintenance personnel.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in equipment maintenance and reliability engineering.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and problem-solving activities to enhance equipment performance and production efficiency.
- Assist in the installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment and production lines.
- Required Skills/Abilities:
- Associate's degree or technical certification in Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an equipment technician in a manufacturing environment, preferably in electronics or PCBA manufacturing.
- Strong technical knowledge of production equipment used in PCBA manufacturing, including soldering equipment, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, and diagnosing equipment malfunctions.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Familiarity with equipment calibration procedures, precision measurement instruments, and test equipment used in equipment maintenance activities.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in diagnosing equipment issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced production environment.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including familiarity with maintenance management software systems.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and overtime, as needed to support production schedules and equipment maintenance activities.
