Job Description:
The Role:
To ensure production goals of the organization are met. Review of existing and design of new manufacturing equipment & processes to fulfill latest customer requirement. Conduct continuous improvement could result in improved productivity or reduced costs related to production.
Advise process technicians and provide guidelines for set-ups for processing under optimal molding condition.
Perform process development for new tooling, new material & etc.
Conduct continuous improvement project to improve / optimize plastic injection molding process to meet customer expectation.
Maintains knowledge of statistical process control procedures in the interest of reducing scrap and producing quality parts. Also establishes SPC control limits.
Samples new tools and materials to determine the most appropriate tools, materials and methods to be used in the manufacture of company products. Extensive documents on new tools and material. Review capability studies on new and existing tools and processes. Recommend corrective actions for arrears not meeting specifications.
Help determine control dimensions on new and existing jobs.
Develop and maintain sufficient understanding of cost structure to determine profit margins per job.
Maintain detailed knowledge of production materials and resins. Maintain knowledge of mold construction tooling and related molding items and tools.
Adhere to all safety procedures including wearing all required protective equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Keep work area clean of debris.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Ensure highest possible product quality and adherence to Entegriss Quality System, ISO and / or other standards.
Traits we believe make a strong candidate:
Degree or Diploma or equivalent in Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. Preference 2 years working experience in Plastic Injection Molding, systematic approach to trouble-shooting and problem solving approach.
Knowledge:
- Extrusion and molding knowledge.
- Scientific molding knowledge
- Injection molding process control software (RJG) is an added advantage
- Molding machines troubleshooting.
- Auxiliary equipment troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of proper polymer processing and drying techniques.
- Knowledge of tooling construction relative to injection molding.
- Design of Experiment (DOE)
- ISO 19000 / ISO 14000
