Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight:
- Oversee cased hole operations including wireline, logging, perforating, and other well intervention services.
- Supervise and direct the day-to-day activities of the crew in the field, ensuring all work is conducted in compliance with company and regulatory safety standards.
- Provide on-site engineering support to resolve complex issues related to cased hole services.
- Coordinate with the wellsite team to ensure the efficient execution of operations, maintaining proper records and reporting systems.
Technical Expertise:
- Lead the planning and execution of cased hole operations, such as logging, perforation, and reservoir monitoring.
- Review and analyze well data to recommend and implement solutions for well optimization and intervention strategies.
- Ensure that all operations are carried out in accordance with engineering specifications and operational requirements.
- Provide guidance on troubleshooting downhole equipment and technology used in cased hole services.
Team Leadership & Training:
- Act as the primary technical lead on-site and mentor junior engineers, field operators, and crew members.
- Lead safety and operational meetings with the team to ensure clear communication and understanding of job scope, goals, and risks.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by sharing best practices, lessons learned, and innovative solutions with the team.
Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure all operations adhere to safety policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards (such as OSHA, API, etc.).
- Actively monitor the safety of field operations and ensure that all personnel are using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety protocols.
- Investigate and report any safety incidents or operational failures.
Client & Stakeholder Communication:
- Liaise with clients (operators, drilling engineers, reservoir engineers, etc.) to discuss job requirements, operational status, and post-job analysis.
- Provide detailed technical reports, job summaries, and recommendations based on cased hole service results.
- Support the planning and execution of well intervention projects, ensuring that client expectations are met.
Equipment & Resource Management:
- Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and operation of downhole equipment, wireline units, and logging tools.
- Ensure that all necessary equipment is available, operational, and in good condition for the planned operations.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure adequate resource allocation and inventory control.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees (e.g., Master's, Ph.D.) are beneficial.
- Experience: 5-10 years of experience in oil and gas field operations, with a focus on cased hole services. Hands-on experience with wireline, logging, perforation, and other downhole technologies.
