Job Overview: The Early Childhood Lecturer is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students pursuing a diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of early childhood development and education practices, as well as experience working with young children. This role involves developing curriculum, teaching, and mentoring students to prepare them for careers in early childhood education.
Develop and deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions on various aspects of early childhood education, including child development, curriculum planning, classroom management, and teaching methodologies.
- Create and update course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, and assessments, ensuring alignment with current best practices and educational standards.
Provide students with practical insights and real-world examples from the field of early childhood education.- Mentor and guide students through their academic journey, including offering career advice and supporting student projects and teaching practicums.
Assess and grade students work, providing constructive feedback to support their learning and development.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in early childhood education and integrate relevant knowledge into the curriculum.
Collaborate with other faculty members and industry professionals to enhance the early childhood education program.- Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and professional development activities.
Engage in research or consultancy activities related to early childhood education, as required.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of academic programs and the overall student experience.
A Bachelors or Masters degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of child development theories, early learning frameworks, and educational standards.
Prior teaching or training experience is preferred but not mandatory.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to deliver complex information in a clear and engaging manner.
- Commitment to student success and academic excellence.
Experience working in a teaching or training capacity within an educational institution.
- Knowledge of current trends in early childhood education, including inclusive education practices.
