We are looking for an English as Additional Language Teacher who will join the International Secondary School to help us guide the school and work with our learners to take us to the next level. Tenby Schools Setia Eco Gardens

We are a unique campus, home to Tenby International School, which consists of a Primary and Secondary School (IPC, National Curriculum for England, CIE, IGCSE), and a Malaysian Private School, Sekolah Sri Tenby (Malaysian National Curriculum). ISP EAL/SEND Teacher Responsibilities

  • To support the department's support provision mainly for EAL students
  • To support intervention session for targeted students
  • To identify new EAL students at admissions to ensure support is placed immediately upon enrolment
  • To conducts positive and professional parent meeting with students at the heart of the discussion
  • To analyse student progress and target setting based on The Bell Foundation Tracker descriptors
  • To hold high standards in support sessions with consistency and sufficient planning
  • To set high expectations that inspire, motivate and challenge students
  • Work closely with the pastoral team to share confidential information to support students in the mainstream lessons
  • To be effective in departmental meetings and ensure required tasks are completed at the best of ability
  • Proficiency in Mandarin, Japanese or Korean is an advantage

Skills, Qualifications And Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in education (or other relevant degree) with at least 3 years of teaching EAL students.
  • Passionate about teaching EAL student
  • Patient, enthusiastic and team player with good communicational skills and empathy for others
  • Able to work with individual students and in small groups
  • Has knowledge and experience in teaching students with Special Educational Needs
  • Capable of leading elements/tasks within the department for the whole school
  • Willing to learn and share best practice
