This position is responsible for the delivery and execution of projects and initiatives under the Group Future Finance Program (FFP). The FFP is a Group driven program to modernize Prudential's Finance function by strengthening Finance & Actuarial capabilities through enhanced data and improved systems. The FFP will be the mechanism to transform the role of Finance within the organization.
The role will report to Head of Group Enterprise Architecture, and work closely with FFP Group Technology Product Head, Workstream Product Owners for Data, Actuarial. Accounting and MIS, for successfully delivering the end-to-end systems with data integration for the FFP project, including the Financial Data Repository (FDR) & application integration. The role involves various aspects related to designing, implementing, and maintaining financial systems within Finance GTP, and ensuring that financial processes and technologies align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
This role is multifaceted, requiring a blend of technical expertise, financial acumen, and strategic thinking. By effectively designing and implementing financial systems, this role contributes to the Prudential's operational efficiency, compliance, and long-term success. The architecture needs to be secure, resilient, accurate, timely, scalable & cost efficient. Therefore should possess a strong foundation in finance and technology along with the ability to drive innovation and change within the Prudential.
Role and Responsibilities
- Drive system integration & architecture vision, strategy, roadmap and adoption of industry best practices or methodologies appropriate for FFP and Prudential environment.
- Develop end-to-end financial solutions that integrate with FFP existing systems Oracle ERP, FDR (Azure, GCP Cloud DataLake, DataBricks), SaaS (Workday & Coupa), and other applications (Workflow, Prophet, OneStream, Alteryx, PowerBI).
- Oversee the integration of financial systems with other enterprise applications, ensuring seamless data flow and process automation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies and financial software solutions to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement. Work with external vendors and partners to bring in these solutions.
- Ensure that financial systems comply with industry regulations, data security standards, and Prudential internal policies.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with financial processes and systems, implementing controls and safeguards where necessary.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of financial systems, architectures, and processes for knowledge management & communications for within Engineering & Finance GTP
- Provide training and support to end-users on financial systems and processes, addressing issues and ensuring optimal utilization.
- Continuously assess and enhance the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of financial systems through process optimization and technology upgrades.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of proven experience in finance, accounting, or financial technology roles, with a focus on system design and implementation.
- Personal Attributes: Strong analytical skills, leadership capabilities, effective communication, and problem-solving ability
- Deep knowledge of financial systems, including ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), EPM (Enterprise Performance Management), BI (Business Intelligence), and related technologies
- Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles, financial reporting standards ( GAAP, IFRS), and regulatory requirements (SOX, GDPR).
- Proficiency in Solution architecture frameworks (TOGAF), data modeling, Data Architecture and system integration methodologies.
Mandatory skills
- Strong background in system integration, with experience architecting complex integration between systems in large-scale environments for Financial domain (Accounting, MIS, Actuarial)
- Experience in successful delivery of complex finance data related projects end to end (e.g. Finance transformation, Solvency II, IFRS17)
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and leading complex projects from conception to delivery.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing requirements.
Preferred skills
- Experience in Agile and DevSecOps delivery, quality practices, techniques, test automation and tools required for all aspect of systems integration between applications, middleware and data platforms
- Experience with cloud-based technologies including Microsoft Azure, Databricks, Delta Lake, Collibra and Unity Catalog
