- Ensure maintenance and repairs of instrumentation, control equipment and electrical equipment are effectively and efficiently carried out.
- Allocate and supervise the work of electrical technicians, contract workers, interns and contractors that is relevant to this function.
- Guide and train electrical technicians and interns in their engineering work. This may include instrument technician as and when necessary.
- Leads the electrical department to maintain the factory QMS and be the Subject Matter Expert for all quality & food safety related equipment.
- Involved in implementation of plant improvement and investment jobs related to electrical & automation
- Assist Engineering Manager in establish training gaps & provide training for electrical technicians.
- To lead continuous electrical, automation & instrumentation improvement activities and leader of the DOR team for the department.
- Maintain safety and good housekeeping standard by ensuring personnel observe safety precautions (LOTO), good housekeeping rules and good engineering practices.
- Manage subordinates effectively.
- Work closely with other engineering section as well as cross functional department such as Production, QA, R&D, Warehouse, Safety, etc.
- Participate in cost saving, energy efficiency, and OEE improvement and CAPEX project.
- Perform purchase requisition and preventive work order management.
- Oversee the factory instrument calibration and comply to the standard.
- Supporting factory shutdown activities at LT/HT substation such as 11kv and VCB proper shutoff, genset powerup, faulty power monitor replacement, ACB maintenance, VCB rack out and maintenance, 11KV VCB Maintenance, transformer earthing check, O/C and E/F relays calibration, faulty MCCB replacement, faulty UPS replacement, faulty capacitor bank replacement, MSB Control Circuits fuses & charger fuses replacement, LT compartment cleaning
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
- Minimum SPM/Certificate/Diploma/Degree preferred in Manufacturing/Engineering or any related field of study
- Minimum 3 years working experience relevant to Electrical/ Automation/Instrumentation in factory or manufacturing industry (preferably from F&B industry)
- Familiar with Allen Bradley software (RSLogix500, RSLogix5000, Studio 5000, FTView).
- Well versed in Electrical, Automation, Instrumentation, Process Control, Scada, HMI, VSD, server, network setup.
- Knowledge in Cleaning in Place (CIP), product inspection, food safety, GMP and ISO standard.
- Machine troubleshooting experience requirement mechanical aptitude and/ technical ability
- Ability to understand and follow standard operational procedures and follow written and oral instructions with minimal supervision.
- Has experience in managing a team.
- Experience working in food related industry will be an added advantage
