Description
The Centre Director is responsible for overseeing all business operations, academic programs, and management within the language centre. This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset alongside effective communication and organizational skills to ensure adherence to company policies and security of financial resources.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Entrepreneurial orientation
- Take ownership of the overall budget and proactively report P&L status against financial objectives, identifying anomalies.
- Develop and meet KPI targets alongside the Director of Operations.
- Propose innovative business opportunities to increase revenue or decrease costs.
- Communication and organizational skills
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Submit required reports and data upon request.
- Manage the financial controls of the centre, ensuring funds and property are secure and accounted for.
- Customer orientation
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including university partners, faculties, sponsors, and agents.
- Enhance and implement student service offerings that foster community and achieve retention goals.
- Conduct outreach to ensure the centre is respected by the university community and industry peers.
- Academic management
- Develop and conduct academic programs that meet ELS Language Centres standardized curriculum standards.
- Hire, train, and supervise instructional staff, providing classroom instruction as needed.
- Oversee scheduling of classes and placement testing of students.
- Submit required academic reports to universities and sponsors.
- Strategic thinker
- Develop plans specifying goals, strategies, and staffing, identifying risks and contingency plans.
- Foster teamwork through management, motivation, mentorship, and regular performance reviews.
- Promote compliance with Human Resources policies and manage staff in a professional manner.
