We seek a design engineer proficient in creating jigs, fixtures, and mechanical devices to provide engineering solutions for internal stakeholders like Production, Process Engineering, NPI, and Quality departments.
Your Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To
- Design, manage mechanical facility, tooling, jig and fixture in order to sustain and improve all operational or production/assembly relevant processes.
- To perform detail designs and drafting of detail drawings (parts drawings) on time with 3D software and upon the approval of the project manager in accordance to drawings, assembly instructions & PFMEA requirements, and forward the designs to the respective vendors and suppliers for quotations & fabrication.
- To provide engineering solution to NPI team members for new launch products, tooling, jigs & fixture setup before conducting acceptance test release for mass production.
- Ensure proper setup TPM & autonomous maintenance planning on mechanical devices, tools, jig & fixtures with proper procurement documentation and ensure perform the TPM according to TPM planning.
- Maintain and support jig and fixture management, e.g. jig and fixture spare part management.
- Support in establishing manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities with proper document (e.g. work Instruction), these includes setting of mechanical devices, tooling, fixture setup and clamping method
- Initiate and participate in continuous improvement process and 6S at work environment to increase the productivity and maintain safety, quality, cycle time optimization and efficiency towards meeting departmental goals.
- Conduct training for production staff on workflow and the use and application of various jig and fixture clamping techniques.
- Conduct the machine/processes capability study and machine acceptance documentation.
- Provide support for internal / external process audits and ensure compliance of established process requirements in the implementation of jigs and fixtures.
- Assist with daily tasks assigned by the supervisor
Minimum Qualification
- 1-2 years relevant professional experience in mechanical designs (automation, jigs & fixtures)
- Prefer Bachelors degree in Mechanical & Mechatronic Engineering
- Proficient in English
Preferred Qualification
- 4 years of relevant professional experience in mechanical designs (automation, jigs & fixtures)
- Know-how and experience in mechanical assembly, pneumatics and hydraulics systems
- CNC/precision machining knowledge is an added advantage
- Organized, self-dependent and costumer-oriented work
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to set up, operate, calibrate and maintain jig, fixture and tools.
- Microsoft Office experience
- Experience in 3D CAD System (e.g. TopSolid, NX, Catia, Solidworks)
- Finite Element Analysis FEA
