Location: Johor Bahru
Responsibilities:
Spearhead the development of projects in Malaysia, securing strategic resources such as land, utilities, connectivity, and cultivating government relationships.
Liaise with the Finance & Analysis team to guide the development and execution of resource capital budgets.
Gain an in-depth understanding of GDS's existing projects and future developments in the region.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams supporting data center development to ensure seamless operations.
Develop and oversee key metrics to quantify project resources within Malaysia.
Maintain and enhance relationships with both external consultants and internal stakeholders throughout the project's life-cycle.
Collaborate with the Sales & Business team to integrate customer demand and requirements into project development.
Work in tandem with Government Relationship teams to strengthen ties with local authorities, ensuring smooth project approval and delivery.
Knowledge of GDS projects at NTP & KTP.
Requirements:
Possess Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in data center infrastructure projects.
For a Senior Manager role, a minimum of 7+ years of experience in data center-related fields, such as site selection and business development. For a Manager role, at least 5+ years of similar experience.
A robust understanding of data center site selection criteria and project development processes.
Knowledge and experience dealing with large-scale resource requirements, including power systems and water supply.
Proven experience in business negotiations with vendors, suppliers, consultants, and government agencies.
Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving capabilities.
A motivated self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to conduct complex business case and data analysis, justify project scope, and present findings to management during high-level reviews.
