D2C Finance Lead

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are a new business venture under the KHIND Malaysia Group, specializing in direct-to-consumer sales through rent-to-own and e-commerce channels, with a focus on electrical home appliances. As we embark on this exciting journey, we are looking for a strategic Finance Lead to oversee high-level financial planning and decision-making, while coordinating with external partners for day-to-day financial operations.

Strategic Financial Planning: Work closely with the founder and senior team to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's growth objectives. Provide insights into financial modelling, simulations, and scenario analysis to support business decisions.

Outsourced Financial Management Coordination: Oversee the relationship with external accounting and financial service providers, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, compliance, and adherence to internal controls.

Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the development of budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business goals. Monitor financial performance against these benchmarks, identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue optimization.

Financial Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage financial risks related to the business, especially in relation to the rent-to-own model, OEM partnerships, and market fluctuations.

Cash Flow Management & Capital Allocation: Ensure effective cash flow management, focusing on optimizing working capital for operational needs, including rent-to-own financing. Manage capital allocation to support business growth while balancing financial sustainability.

Financial Modeling & Simulations: Develop financial models and run simulations to project future business performance under various scenarios. Support decision-making with data-driven insights and long-term financial planning.

Investor Relations & Fundraising Support: Assist in preparing materials for potential investors or financial partners. Play a role in securing funding when necessary to support business growth and expansion.

Compliance & Governance: Ensure all financial activities are compliant with local regulations and internal governance structures. Liaise with external auditors when necessary.

TO BE A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA, ACCA) would be a plus.

5-7 years of experience in finance, ideally in a leadership role within a startup, e-commerce, or consumer goods environment.

Strong understanding of financial modelling, risk management, and cash flow optimization in a direct-to-consumer business model.

Experience in managing outsourced financial functions and working with external service providers would be a plus.

Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.

Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and senior management
