Job Description

Position: Cost Control Executive

Department: Finance

Location: Seksyen 23, Shah Alam

Reports to: Senior Manager (Finance)

Type: Full-time

Job Overview:


The Cost Control Executive is responsible for monitoring and managing the financial efficiency of the manufacturing processes within the automotive oil filter production facility. The role requires a meticulous approach to analyzing costs, implementing cost-saving initiatives, and ensuring that the company's financial resources are utilized effectively. The executive will work closely with various departments, including procurement, production, and finance, to maintain cost control and support the company's profitability goals.

Key Responsibilities:


- Cost Analysis & Reporting:

- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly cost performance against budget and forecast.

- Prepare detailed cost reports and variance analyses to identify areas of cost savings and efficiencies.

- Conduct regular reviews of material, labor, and overhead costs to ensure alignment with company standards.

- Budgeting & Forecasting:

- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.

- Work with department heads to develop accurate cost estimates and budget allocations for production processes.

- Analyze past financial performance and market conditions to provide input for future cost projections.

- Cost Reduction & Efficiency:

- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across the manufacturing process, including materials procurement, labor utilization, and energy consumption.

- Collaborate with production and procurement teams to negotiate better pricing, improve resource allocation, and minimize waste.

- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce overall production costs.

- Inventory Management:

- Monitor inventory levels to ensure they are aligned with production needs while minimizing excess inventory costs.

- Analyze inventory turnover rates and suggest strategies to optimize inventory management.

- Collaborate with the procurement team to manage supply chain costs effectively.

- Compliance & Audit:

- Ensure that all cost-related activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.

- Assist with internal and external audits related to cost control and financial reporting.

- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all cost control activities.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Work closely with finance, production, procurement, and quality control teams to ensure alignment of cost control initiatives.

- Provide financial insights and cost-related advice to support decision-making across departments.

- Participate in regular meetings to review cost performance and discuss opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications:


- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

- 3-5 years of experience in cost control, financial analysis, or accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, budgeting, and financial forecasting.

- Proficiency in financial analysis software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.

- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.

Preferred Skills:


- Experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry.

- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.

- Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
