They are seeking an experienced and visionary Corporate Sustainability Director to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategy from the ground up for their diverse conglomerate, reporting to the Chief Communications Officer as an individual contributor.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive ESG framework aligned with company values and regulatory requirements.
- Set and manage sustainability targets and KPIs, embedding ESG principles across all business units.
- Create a long-term sustainability roadmap focused on carbon reduction, resource efficiency, and social impact.
- Collaborate with functional teams to integrate sustainability into business processes and decision-making.
- Build relationships with external stakeholders, including government, NGOs, and industry partners, to support the sustainability agenda.
- Oversee ESG reporting, ensuring transparency and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Identify and manage ESG-related risks, developing mitigation strategies as needed.
- Serve as an advisor to executive leadership on sustainability matters, providing guidance and updates on trends and best practices.
The ideal talent
- Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or specialized ESG certifications (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD) are a plus.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in sustainability, ESG, or corporate responsibility, preferably within a large, diversified organization or consultancy.
- In-depth knowledge of ESG reporting standards, regulations, and best practices (e.g., GRI, CDP, SASB, TCFD).
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire both internal and external stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess, measure, and report on ESG performance effectively.
