Overview:
To support the business in the Americas and provide a range of legal services, primarily focused on preparation, negotiation, and review of contracts.
A successful candidate will be highly motivated and be able to handle a wide variety of contracts, have a commercial mindset, and be collaborative with a willingness to learn.
This position is based in Kuala Lumpur on Hybrid working model and will report to the Head of Legal, Americas.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assisting in commercial legal matters (both from a sales and procurement perspective), including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements, terms and conditions and other documents, and managing and advising on contractual provisions.
Advising on commercial arrangements including toll/contract manufacturing, logistics and warehousing, agency and distribution matters
Providing legal and transactional support on any growth initiatives, disposals, internal reorganization, restructuring, expansion and refinancing projects in the Americas
Supporting the Head of Legal, Americas in other matters as may be assigned from time to time including corporate secretarial, insurance, corporate governance, regulatory compliance as well as legal initiatives and projects.
Requirements:
Excellent English language speaking and drafting skills with 3- 5 years of broad corporate and commercial law experience at a law firm or in-house.
Good knowledge of contract law with solid contract drafting review and negotiation experience
Legally qualified to practice law or a law degree with contract review experience with International/cross-border experience
Good commercial awareness with Manufacturing experience
Legally qualified to practice law in a US state or a law degree from a US accredited law school with contract review experience
