About Us:

Join our dynamic team at Sunbather Coffee, a unique Yoshoku caf that blends traditional Japanese flavors with Western culinary techniques. We take pride in offering our customers a fusion dining experience in a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Job Overview:

We are looking for a passionate and hardworking Commis to join our kitchen team. As a Commis, you will assist the senior chefs in preparing and cooking a variety of Yoshoku dishes, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn and grow in the culinary field.
  • Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including cutting, marinating, and portioning food items according to recipes and standards.
Cooking: Support the chefs in cooking and assembling dishes, ensuring consistency and quality in every plate served.Kitchen Hygiene: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring all food safety and hygiene standards are met.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in the receiving, storing, and managing of kitchen supplies and ingredients.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations during service.
Learning & Development: Continuously improve culinary skills by learning from senior chefs and participating in kitchen training sessions.
  • Requirements:
Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary environment is preferred, but not mandatory. Fresh graduates from culinary school are encouraged to apply.
Skills: Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, knife handling, and food safety practices.Passion: A strong interest in Japanese-Western fusion cuisine and a desire to learn and grow within the culinary industry.
  • Team Player: Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment, taking direction and supporting colleagues as needed.
Flexibility: Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
Language: Proficiency in English and/or Malay. Knowledge of Japanese is a plus but not required.
