As a Commis you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our back-of-house (BOH) kitchen. You will work closely with our culinary team to prepare top-quality menu items in a timely manner, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food quality. Your passion for hospitality and dedication to developing culinary skills will contribute to our success in delivering outstanding dining experiences.
Coordinate and participate with other sections of the kitchen to ensure smooth operations, including requirements, cleanliness, wastage, and cost control.
- Cook food according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and adherence to quality guidelines.
Prepare top-quality menu items in a timely manner, maintaining high standards of presentation and taste.- Ensure that all stocks are well maintained and rotated to maintain freshness.
Complete mise en place for food preparation in your section, including chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients.
- Maintain proper sanitation and cleanliness of surfaces, equipment, and storage containers in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared, taking corrective action as needed to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction.- Stay up-to-date with new products, recipes, and preparation techniques, and incorporate them into daily operations as appropriate.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and effective communication.
Passion for food and a desire to develop culinary knowledge and skills.
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment preferred, but not required.
Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
