Purpose Statement: The IT Technical Architect has global responsibility for the strategic direction, technical roadmap and design of a specific technical domain. The Technical Architect is the technology expert in the specific domain(s): software, infrastructure, network, security, ERP etc. Is providing guidance in the design process and implementation, best practices and standards for implementation and documentation for his domain for the rest of the team. Forward looking, strategic and innovative mindset, ensure technology trends are known and incorporated in our roadmaps. Example: Software Architect, Infrastructure Architect, Network Architect, Data Center, Security Architect etc.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Responsible for the overall technical direction and strategy of the specific domain/product/area. These could be higher level domains at large: e.g. infrastructure, cloud, etc.
- Understands technology trends and incorporate those into strategic roadmaps to drive innovation and business growth.
- Leads system design activities for strategic, large and complex systems development programs. Develops effective implementation strategies consistent with specified requirements, architectures and constraints of performance and feasibility.
- Leads the use and development of design and architecture patterns, and domain best practices. Defines standards, frameworks and guidelines for the associated teams.
- Systems Design (SFIA: 6 Initiate, Influence) Develops and drives adoption of and adherence to organizational policies, standards, guidelines, and methods for system design. Champions the importance and value of system design principles and the selection of appropriate systems design life cycle models.
Education/Experience Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required a Master's degree is preferred. (Computer Science / IT)
- 8 years of related experience is required 10 or more years of related experience is preferred.
- 2 years of IT Architecture experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.
- Certification in the related architecture field is desirable
