Job Summary: The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a senior executive responsible for the management, implementation, and usability of information and computer technologies. The CIO oversees the company's technology infrastructure, ensuring it aligns with the business goals and strategies. This role involves strategic planning, leadership, and collaboration with other departments to enhance business operations through technology.
Develop and implement the company's IT strategy to support overall business objectives.- Assess and identify emerging technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the company.
- Leadership and Management:
Lead and manage the IT department, ensuring high performance and team development.- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and high performance within the IT team.
Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.- Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective and efficient use of resources.
- Technology Infrastructure:
Oversee the IT infrastructure's design, implementation, and maintenance, including networks, hardware, and software.- Ensure the IT infrastructure's security, reliability, and scalability to support business operations.
- Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery:
Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans to ensure the resilience of IT systems.- Manage risk by implementing security measures and monitoring systems to protect data and IT assets.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with senior management and other departments to understand business needs and align IT strategies accordingly.- Communicate IT-related matters to the executive team, board of directors, and other stakeholders.
Oversee the planning and execution of IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.- Implement and manage IT service delivery to meet the organization's needs.
Negotiate and manage contracts with external IT vendors and service providers.- Evaluate and manage relationships with technology partners to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).- Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role, preferably as a CIO, CTO, or similar position.
Strong knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and emerging technologies.
- Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.- Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Experience in a university or commercial organization.
- Certification in IT governance (e.g., ITIL, COBIT) or project management (e.g., PMP).
Experience with cybersecurity and data protection practices.- Familiarity with cloud computing and digital transformation initiatives.
This position typically works in an office environment.- Occasional travel may be required for meetings, conferences, or site visits.

Pay: RM5,- 00 - RM7,000.00 per month
