Job Title: Senior Cook- Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Cook to join our Vegan culinary team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques and ingredients and will be able to prepare and present dishes to the highest standards. The Senior Cook will assist to manage kitchen operations and mentoring junior kitchen staffs.
The ideal candidate should have previous experience working at Fusion kitchen, Chinese, Japanese or Korean restaurant or cafe. Experience with preparing Vegan food as well as Central Kitchen will be added advantages.
- Food Preparation and Cooking:
Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes according to the restaurant's recipes and standards.- Ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality and presentation standards.
Oversee the preparation and cooking of food to ensure timely delivery of dishes.
Assist in managing kitchen operations, including inventory management and ordering supplies.
- Ensure that kitchen equipment is properly maintained and used safely.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen at all times.
Supervise and train junior kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen procedures.- Delegate tasks and ensure that all kitchen staff adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to kitchen staff.
Collaborate with the management to develop and update the menu.
- Experiment with new recipes and techniques to enhance the menu offerings.
Ensure that all dishes are prepared consistently and meet the restaurant's quality standards.
Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency.- Implement and maintain food safety and hygiene standards.
Address any issues or complaints related to food quality and take corrective actions as necessary.
Proven experience as a Senior Cook or similar role in a restaurant, cafe or hotel.
- Excellent knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.- Strong leadership and management skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or a related field is preferred.
Exceptional culinary skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
Ability to stand for long periods.
