Position Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for overseeing the financial operations and strategy of the organization. This role involves strategic financial planning, budgeting, financial reporting, risk management, and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders such as investors and financial institutions. The CFO collaborates with other executive leaders to drive financial performance and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy: Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business objectives, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, providing accurate forecasts to guide organizational decision-making.
Financial Reporting: Ensure the preparation of accurate financial statements, reports, and regulatory disclosures.
Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow to maintain liquidity and support operational needs.
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, including credit, market, and operational risks.
Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, auditors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Compliance and Audits: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and coordinate internal and external audits.
Strategic Collaboration: Work with other executives to drive business growth, profitability, and strategic initiatives.
Scope of Authority
Financial Decision-Making: Authorization of major financial transactions and expenditures.
Policy Development: Establish and maintain financial policies and internal controls.
External Communication: Represent the company's financial interests in discussions with stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. An MBA or CPA is preferred.
Proven experience in a CFO or similar executive-level finance role.
In-depth knowledge of financial planning, accounting, and risk management.
Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
Experience in financial software and systems.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and other stakeholders.
