We are looking for a Category Buyer (f/m/d) based in Malaysia to make an impact!

Your Responsibilities - Summary of the job:

As a Category Buyer you will be responsible for the overall strategy and planning for Procurement related matters and executing them in your related catagories globally. The aim of this position is to support the GUTOR Electronic LLC factories globally for Purchasing activities with an efficient supplier selection and management process in defined categories.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sourcing and Vendor Management: Identifying and selecting reliable suppliers/vendors, negotiating contracts, and establishing long-term partnerships to ensure the availability of high-quality materials, equipment, and services.
  • Evaluating supplier proposals to ensure cost-effectiveness and adherence to budget constraints.
  • Contribute to margin improvement through material cost down and supply chain improvement , through cross functional teams. Proposing productivity actions (Negotiations, Change of Suppliers, Quality Value Engineering) within his/her perimeter in consistency with category strategy.
  • Risk Management: Identifying potential risks in the procurement process and proposing risk mitigation strategies, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and company policies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements in the procurement processes leading local Procurement projects or projects with limited complexity or risks
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate procurement records, generating reports on supplier performance, cost savings, and other key metrics to support decision-making and provide insights to stakeholders.
  • Ensure the application of the category strategy and align creating a key supplier panel for your category. Identifying new technologies/suppliers, characterize gaps between needs & current panel sharing key choices with Procurement Director / Cross functional team.
  • Ensure the operational relationships with allocated suppliers and drive sustainable competition into the supplier panel.
  • Manage supplier qualification; negotiate and manage contracts/agreements with local/global/specific suppliers (price, delivery, terms and conditions, ..).
  • First escalation level for supplier crisis management.

SECONDARYDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the involvement of the purchasing function, the introduction of supplier strategies as earlier as possible in the project stage
  • Support of general activities in the procurement department as required to maintain business.

Your Profile:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience in Procurement Supplier Management
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Good ability to drive result
  • Good communication skills
  • Fluent in written and Spoken English
  • Professional user of MS office.
  • Ability to work with team.
  • Adhering to principles & values.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL
