Job Description

Customer Service: Greeting customers, taking orders, and providing friendly and efficient service. This often includes answering customer questions about menu items, making recommendations, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Food and Beverage Preparation: Preparing drinks such as coffee, tea, smoothies, and other beverages according to the cafe's recipes and standards. This may also involve preparing simple food items like sandwiches, salads, pastries, or desserts.Cash Handling and POS System Operation: Processing payments, handling cash, and operating the point-of-sale (POS) system to ring up orders accurately. This includes managing transactions, handling cash, and ensuring that the cash register balances at the end of the shift.
  • Maintaining Cleanliness and Hygiene: Keeping the cafe clean and sanitary by regularly cleaning tables, countertops, equipment, and other surfaces. This also involves ensuring that the dining area, restrooms, and kitchen meet health and safety standards.
Stocking and Inventory Management: Replenishing supplies such as coffee beans, tea bags, milk, sugar, cups, and napkins as needed. Monitoring inventory levels and notifying management when supplies need to be reordered.
Assisting with Kitchen Duties: Supporting kitchen staff with tasks such as food preparation, dishwashing, and cleaning kitchen equipment. This may include washing dishes, chopping ingredients, or helping to assemble food orders.Team Collaboration: Working cooperatively with other cafe crew members and communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
  • Adhering to Policies and Procedures: Following company policies and procedures regarding food safety, hygiene, customer service, and cash handling. This includes complying with regulations related to food handling and serving alcohol if applicable.
Upselling and Promoting Specials: Recommending additional items or upselling menu items to increase sales. This may involve promoting daily specials, combo deals, or upsizing orders to increase revenue.
Maintaining a Positive Atmosphere: Creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for customers by being attentive, courteous, and accommodating to their needs. This includes handling customer complaints or concerns professionally and resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction
