Buyer - Household, Home Furnishing

Responsibilities

• Ensure out of stock & low-stock items are procured and displayed in the shelf without delay.
• Check for non-moving / slow moving items and take action to discontinue them.
• Follow up constantly with suppliers and ensure ordered items are received on time without delay.
• Ensure availability of import products as well as local products.
• Ensure price changes are affected before shop opening.
• Introduce new and innovative products.
• Help control stock levels by varying delivery schedules or recommending clearance sales.
• Maintain relationship with existing suppliers and source new and alternative suppliers for future requirements.
• Update and follow municipality regulations that are issued time to time.
• Any other assignments given by the management/regional leadership for enhancing sales, profit and customer satisfaction.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers specifying quality, quantity, price and delivery schedules.
• Send requirements for promotion products to CBD well in advance and ensure its availability in the store well before promotion.
• Conduct market survey & market trend periodically in respect of price & procurement of products.
• Attend exhibitions, trade fairs & events and update/select new innovations and trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent equivalent experience in purchasing, inventory, or supply chain management
• Minimum 05 years of experience as Buyer.
• Preferred local Malaysian Citizens.
• In-depth knowledge of contracts, invoicing & negotiation terms.
