Through a series of curated dinners, collaboration cook ups, symposiums and CSR programmes, Kita aims to spotlight chefs, producers, flavours, and food innovators, while offering inspiration and skills to the younger generation, and a platform for discussing consumption and the future of food.
Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Business Development Manager at Kita Food Festival. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, establishing and maintaining relationships with partners and sponsors, and developing strategies to drive growth. Key duties include:
Business Development & Sponsorships
- Explore and secure new partnerships to expand the company's reach and increase revenue streams, including sponsorships, corporate dinners and ancillary revenue streams
- Develop pitch decks for partnership opportunities
- Negotiate and draft partnership agreements
- Actively cultivate relationships with key stakeholders in the food and hospitality industry for special events, including regional governments and media groups
Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary liaison for sponsors and partners, ensuring their needs are met and partnership entitlements are executed
- Work with the Kita marketing and event teams to ensure application of partners brand presence are in accordance with partners standards and approval
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years experience in business development or sales roles in Malaysia, preferably within the F&B or lifestyle industries.
- Strong network of contacts and existing relationships with key decision-makers in the local and regional corporate community is a plus.
- Track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth in a competitive market.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and influence clients effectively.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to identify market opportunities and develop innovative business strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple challenges simultaneously with great attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passionate about food and sustainability.
- Fluency in English and Bahasa Melayu (both written and spoken). Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
- Malaysian citizen.
- Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) - This position requires you to provide your own work-related equipment: laptop, phone and phone service.
