JOB PURPOSE
The Business Analyst is responsible in conducting business process analysis, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefit analysis in an effort to align information technology solutions with business initiatives. The primary focus is to analyse the business needs and help identify business problems and propose relevant and innovative solutions. The Business Analyst is also responsible in translating the business and user requirements into structured specifications of functionality. The Business Analyst also acts as the key interface between business and development / ICT teams in defining and influencing business requirements and supports the development of appropriate system solutions in terms of articulating business requirements.
KEY RESULT AREAS / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Roles include managing change requests as part of the Change Management unit's responsibility, and managing requirements for projects
- For Change Management, the Business Analyst is required to advise users on the established change management processes, analyse the requirements detailed in the change request forms, schedule meeting to obtain requirements clarification with stakeholders, managing the status of the change requests and communicating with users for the change requests sign-off once they have been implemented
- For projects, the Business Analyst is required to advise users on the established project management processes, including conducting business process analysis and requirements assessments, in an effort to align information technology solutions with business initiatives. The primary focus is to analyse the business needs and help identify business problems and propose relevant and innovative application solutions.
- Responsible in translating the business and user requirements into requirement specification document.
- Produce other technical documentation such as design specifications, user manuals, best practices descriptions, knowledge base articles, case studies and test scripts.
- Act as the business advocate between the users and IT teams.
- Assist in streamlining system processes.
- Support users on system's usage and functional enquiries
- Manage and participate in the different types of system testing, including user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Any other responsibilities that may be assigned to you from time to time
MINIMUM ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION
- Candidate ideally possesses at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
- Certification such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) and/or PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) is desirable but not mandatory
RELATED EXPERIENCE
- Ideallytwo (2) years of working experience in the software development environment and at least one (1) year of experience as a Business Analyst.
- Prior experience in the education industry is desirable
