General JDThe Bioveterinary Science Clinical Skills Lab Assistant will support the delivery of practical lab sessions for bioveterinary science students, ensuring the smooth operation of the clinical skills laboratory. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining lab equipment and materials, assisting students during lab exercises, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The lab assistant will work closely with faculty to enhance the learning experience by providing technical support and guidance, facilitating hands-on learning opportunities, and maintaining an organized and efficient lab environment. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to student success are essential for this role.
- Coordinate with lecturers regarding practicals to be conducted
- Ensure labs are ready in advance for student practicals and all teaching material is prepared
- Assist lecturer during practical and participate in student teaching
- Ensure equipment is well maintained and in working order at all times
- Maintaining SDL and stations (always prepared and ready for student independent learning)
- Responsible for ordering and organizing consumables
- Prepare budget for practicals/labs for the upcoming year
- Work with the team and guide fellow lab assistants to fulfil their duties
- Responsible for taking care of all live animals during practicals, whether in the simulation clinics or in the animal holding area
- Minimize stress and ensure comfort of all live animals used
- Maintain cleanliness and disinfection of premises used as required
- Requirements
Diploma/Degree in Animal Science or related field, experience with handling dogs and cats, preferably with some managerial skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
