Description
The Billing Assistant's role is critical to the Finance team's core function of ensuring that all revenue is billed accurately, on time and in accordance with contracts. This contributes to healthy relationships with customers, as well as generating cash for the business.
This role will join our growing Finance team in Kuala Lumpur, working as part of a wider global finance operation which is headquartered in the UK. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a truly global role with lots of development opportunity.
On a typical day, it looks like this:
- Collating subscription and usage information and processing regular monthly billing through a semi-automated process on Netsuite
- Manually processing ad hoc billing as and when required
- Ensuring sales invoices are raised from the correct subsidiary to the correct customer, maintaining accuracy with all required details
- Adhering strictly to any customer requirements and internal processes, such as PO number and portal uploads adhered to
- Liaise with customers directly, and with our credit control team, on billing queries to ensure that these are resolved quickly and efficiently, contributing to timely collection of accounts receivable
- Monthly validation checks and reconciliations to ensure that all revenue has been accurately billed
- Liaising with key stakeholders, including within our Operations and Commercial teams, along with colleagues and senior managers in the Finance team to ensure customer and billing data accuracy
To be truly effective you will
- Have experience working in complex billing environments with a multinational, multicurrency business
- Be highly focused and accurate with an uncompromising eye for detail
- Have a track record of delivering accurate work to deadlines in a fast-paced organisation, with excellent prioritisation and task management skills.
- Be able to communicate well with internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to influence and guide towards agreed outcomes.
- Have a high attention to detail, able to identify trends in data and analyse the impact with an eye on service improvements.
- Have high integrity, a role model for doing the right thing and commitment to high performance.
- Experience of NetSuite would be advantageous but full training will be provided
