Position: Barista
We have an exciting vacancy for a Barista to join our newly opening zen style Cafe. Your focus will be to create the perfect coffee and hot and cold beverages for each guest, ensuring each drink is in line with your high standards, and the quality and service are by no means compromised.
You will interact with the guests to ensure their needs are met and they are comfortable, offering suggestions from the drinks menu through storytelling and educating them on our considered drinks menu offering.
- Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepares and sells hot drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as our Signature Vegan Espresso, Latte, Mocha, and Cappuccino etc.
- Generate revenue by attracting new customers; defining new and expanded services and products.
Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies and pastries.- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
Reads checks clearly and ensures orders are being processed accurately to reduce wastage.
- Maintains a high standard of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the correct uniform while working.
Accurately takes food/beverage orders and delivers to guests in a timely manner.- Ensures all drinks are prepared and are coherent with the company's standards.
Utilizes slow trade periods to check standards, refresh knowledge on the food and drink offering, and revise health & safety checks.
- Ensures all equipment used front of house is kept clean and tidy at the opening and closing of the venue.
Elevates the guest experience through link selling additional products when possible and/or suitable.- Follows up with each guest, ensuring they are content with service and food to ensure we are delivering on standards and offering a memorable experience.
Clears bar accordingly and provides efficient smooth service that will help turn the bar seating area.
- Accurately takes cash, card, or voucher payments from guests, ensuring correct change is offered, and vendor receipts are retained in the till.
- Experience, Skills & Knowledge:
Minimum of 1 strategic cycle in hospitality.
- Previous experience making fresh coffee and hot drinks.
Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills.- Action-oriented and solution-driven to achieve results.
Desire to build relationships and promote teamwork.
