Hours: 40h per week on a Rotational Shift Pattern covering Mornings, Afternoons, Evenings and Weekends
About the Role
We are looking for an Azure Operations Engineer to join our engineering team to support, optimise and maintain our customers Azure-based systems.
As an Azure Operations Engineer, your responsibilities will centre around maintaining the best practices associated with the five pillars of security, cost optimisation, reliability, performance efficiency and operational excellence within the Azure Well-Architected Framework. You will spend most of your time responding to incidents assigned to the SysOps resolver group via our ITSM monitoring tool (ServiceNow ITOM). You will also fulfil ad-hoc customer requests relating to their Azure environment.
Responsibilities:
Administering and supporting Azure environments. Remediating Azure security vulnerabilities and participating in security incident response.
Managing identity and access.
Dealing with issues directed to our Azure engineering team arising from our Azure alerting and monitoring solution (ServiceNow ITOM). This will involve collaboration and communication across internal teams to ensure resolution.
Servicing customer requests relating to their Azure environment (e.g., to modify NSG/firewall rules, perform data restoration from backup, answer billing queries, change OS configuration, examine Log Analytics to troubleshoot problems etc.)
Working with service delivery and change managers to ensure that any changes made mesh well with the customers overall strategy and are implemented successfully.
Ensuring that all communication, interactions, assignments, details and actions are clear, effective and timely.
What we are looking for:
AZ-900 Microsoft Azure Fundamentals qualification.
AZ-104 Microsoft Azure Administrator qualification.
2+ years of prior experience as a Cloud Engineer you will be proficient with Azure services, infrastructure, system, security and cost administration, network configuration, OS and application support in an operational environment.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) practices and tools, ensuring the automation and reproducibility of infrastructure deployments and configurations.
Experience with Azure configuration management tools including Azure portal, Azure PowerShell or Azure CLI.
Experience in configuring and using PaaS offerings (like WebApp, Azure Database services, Containers etc.)
Experienced with Windows OS and common Microsoft server workloads (e.g. AD, SQL, IIS) configuration and support
Familiar with the principles of the Azure well-architected framework (WAF) to promote standardisation and efficiencies across customer estates to maximise value realisation.
