You will be responsible to:- Read, research, interpret and apply the financial reporting and auditing standards and develop technically sound recommendations, guidance notes and reference documents for financial reporting and auditing practices for internal reference.
Plan, manage and conduct internal training / briefing on financial reporting and auditing requirements, closely working with the Firms Managing Partner and Technical Partner.- Perform research and provide technical consultation on contentious matters and queries raised by regulators such as the AOB, MIA and MICPA, in relation to financial reporting and auditing requirements.
Assist the Technical Partner to provide technical advice and guidance to audit team members (including senior management) on financial reporting and auditing requirements.
- Assist the Technical Partner to review the audit files and financial statements of public listed companies to ensure compliance with financial reporting and auditing requirements.
Possess membership of MIA or equivalent professional qualifications such as such as the ICAEW / ACCA / MICPA-CAANZ / CPA Australia.
- With at least 8 10 years of working experience from the external audit industry that has vast experience in the audit of public listed companies and dealing with regulators such as the AOB Inspection.
Good technical knowledge in auditing and / or financial reporting and possess a passion for technical excellence and demonstrate intimate working competency with ISAs and MFRS / IFRS critical.- Passion and commitment to research, analysis and information seeking, with appreciation and awareness of the commercial, regulatory and legislative aspects of applying financial reporting and auditing standards.
Current or prior experience as a member of the technical committee of a professional accounting body will be an advantage.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
Able to plan and organise individual work engagements on self-initiative with minimal supervision.- Strong self-motivation and a capacity for multi-tasking / teamwork.
Knowledge and experience in data analytics tools will be an advantage.
Groomed to become an ISA, IFRS and MFRS Subject Matter Expert that equipped with accounting technical sound researching and interpretation skills.
- Coached to become a trainer or consultant for internal and external (potentially) stakeholders on auditing and financial reporting for public listed companies.
Guided to be a numeric sensitive reviewer / consultant in the external audit industry and capital markets of Malaysia that is well versed with commercial, regulatory, and legislative aspects of applying financial reporting and auditing standards.
