Job Title: Audiologist Technician
- Location: Kajang, Selangor
- Job Summary: The Audiologist Technician assists audiologists in the evaluation and treatment of patients with hearing and balance disorders. This role involves performing routine hearing tests, maintaining and calibrating audiometric equipment, and providing support during patient consultations. The technician will also be responsible for patient education, record-keeping, and ensuring the smooth operation of the audiology clinic.
Assist the audiologist in conducting hearing assessments and diagnostic tests, including pure-tone audiometry, tympanometry, and otoacoustic emissions (OAE) testing.
- Prepare and maintain audiometric equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning correctly.
Take patient histories and document symptoms related to hearing and balance issues.- Educate patients on hearing aids, cochlear implants, and other auditory devices, including proper use, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Assist with the fitting and programming of hearing aids and other auditory devices under the supervision of an audiologist.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including test results and treatment plans.
Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and handle administrative tasks related to audiology services.- Keep up with the latest developments in audiology technology and best practices.
Follow all safety and infection control procedures within the clinic.
A high school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in audiology technology or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience working in a healthcare setting, particularly in audiology, is an advantage.
Knowledge of audiometric testing procedures and hearing aid technology.- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work well with patients of all ages.
Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Possess a valid GDL (Goods Driver's License) and a clean driving record.- Ability to manage and maintain vehicle-related tasks, such as license renewals and Puspakom inspections.
The position may require standing for extended periods and handling delicate equipment.- The technician will work in a clinical environment, often interacting with patients who have hearing impairments.
May involve occasional weekend or evening hours depending on the clinic's schedule.
