Role Purpose:

In this role you will:
- Learn how to implement software features as assigned by engineering leads and guided by senior team members.
- Work with product and engineering team members to understand application
requirements, identify solutions, and determine feasibility & timelines.
- Build & deploy various microservices and APIs as well as develop applications that depend upon them.
- Follow best practices alongside your team for all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including process & conventions.
- Write unit test cases and follow code quality as directed and guided by the team.
- Provide support for resolving customer issues and finding root cause as directed and guided by the team.
- Regularly communicate with engineering leads and other team members on project and delivery status.
- Assist with any related tasks, projects, and other assigned duties as and when deemed necessary.
- Ensure adherence to the compliance of company policies, industry regulations and legal requirements.
You're a great fit if you have:
- A firm understanding of software development fundamentals for app and web based systems.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with or academic understanding of microservice architectures, scaling and concurrency.
- Experience or academic understanding of APIs built with Node JS.
- Able to follow coding best practices such as SOLID, Functional Programming or DDD.
- Working knowledge of Javascript and/or Typescript.
- Able to document your APIs with OpenAPI specification / Swagger.
- Professional or academic experience with MySQL, MongoDB or similar databases.
- Experience with or academic understanding of the Nest.js / Express Framework is a big plus.
- Knowledge of message queues such as RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka or AWS SQS.
- Able to use common tools for software development (Git, Slack, JIRA).
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
