Associate Financial Accountant

We are currently hiring a Associate Financial Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team. As part of this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to various engagements and internal initiatives that align with the Branch's overall objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Tax
Prepare quarter-end and year-end management reports, including all reporting packages and attend to any ad hoc requests.
Act as the liaison for any queries from internal and external parties.
Support various internal audits, external audits and special tax-related projects.
Prepare and file tax returns and all required payments, including indirect tax.
Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments and communicate the effects of these developments.
Ensure compliance with transfer pricing (on related party transactions) and withholding tax rules (on payments to non-residents, including ascertaining the applicability of withholding tax).
Corporate Accounting
Contribute to the overall credit control function for unmatched and long outstanding balances
Assist in the daily operations of the Treasury department.
Maintain and update fixed asset records.
Others
Proactively and promptly escalate/resolve issues in local systems
Engage actively in ad hoc projects, including automation projects rolled out by Hannover (Germany) Office.
Develop and recommend areas for enhancements and improvements for the current systems and processes to meet the challenges and needs of financial reporting areas.
Job Requirements
A university degree or master's in Accounting or Finance is required. Candidates with professional qualifications such as ACCA or equivalent are preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry, specifically in IFRS and/or local reporting, is strongly encouraged.
Prior auditing or professional experience with Big 4 firms is preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in working with various Accounting tools, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Thorough understanding of IFRS and Local Accounting standards.
Strong knowledge and interpretation of accounting entries.
Exceptional precision and attention to detail, ensuring minimal errors in technological bookings.
Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
Proven problem-solving abilities, relying on sound judgment.
Excellent task and time management skills.
Ability to adapt to a team environment, providing consistent and collaborative service to the business.
Outstanding interpersonal, written, and communication skills, as you will be in constant communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
