Assistant Store Managers are responsible for helping customers find the products that best meet their needs while meeting sales targets. This is achieved by growing the customer base, promoting customer loyalty and delivering excellent customer service. This role is also responsible for promoting a positive and professional image of the organisation. Store Managers have additional managerial duties that include assisting the Area Manager to lead, direct and motivate the sales team to achieve company objectives. Additionally, they are responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the store and its personnel.
- Sales & Customer Service:
Receive and approach customers, identify their needs, conduct demonstrations & recommend products
- Employ energetic sales techniques, work to close the sale
Up sell or present product packages Ensure a high level of customer service handling & resolving customer issues
- Develop and maintain relationships with current customers and potential customers as well enhancing customer loyalty
Demonstrate thorough product knowledge- Listen to the marketplace and customers requirements
Maintain cleanliness and order of the store- Conduct open & close of business including inventory management -
Process customer payments (cash handling, POS &ERP system)
- Complete daily envelop including sales totals, stock requirements, cash, receipts & settlement reports
Inventory managementManagerial Duties:
Supervise the store and staff members
- Maintain communication with Area Manager
Provide guidance, support and feedback to sales team Ensure all staff members operate according to company policies and procedures
Act as a positive ambassador for the company at all times
- Abide by company policies and procedures at all times
Maintain upwards communication including trends, feedback (i.e. customer, product), recommendations for improvement and efficiency- Regularly evaluate systems and processes to ensure maximum efficiency
