The Assistant Sales Manager supports the Sales Manager in driving the hotel's sales efforts, maintaining client relationships, and contributing to revenue growth. This role involves assisting in the development and implementation of sales strategies, managing smaller accounts, and coordinating with various departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Support Sales Strategy and Planning:
Assist the Sales Manager in developing and executing sales plans and strategies.- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities.
Help create and implement promotional plans and sales initiatives.
- Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain relationships with smaller corporate clients, travel agents, and event planners.
- Conduct sales calls and client visits as directed by the Sales Manager.
Respond to client inquiries and ensure timely follow-up.
- Revenue Management Assistance:
Support the revenue management team in optimizing room rates and occupancy levels.- Assist in monitoring and adjusting pricing strategies based on market conditions.
Help maximize revenue through upselling and cross-selling services.
- Contract and Proposal Support:
Assist in preparing proposals, contracts, and other documentation.
- Support the Sales Manager in negotiating contracts and agreements with clients.
Ensure compliance with hotel policies and legal requirements.
- Collaboration and Coordination:
Coordinate with the marketing team to help develop promotional materials and campaigns.- Work with the operations team to ensure seamless service delivery for group bookings and events.
Collaborate with other departments to enhance guest experiences and address any issues.
Help prepare regular sales reports and presentations for senior management.
- Track and analyze sales performance metrics.
Monitor competitor activities and market trends.
- Team Support and Development:
Assist in mentoring and developing junior sales team members.- Participate in performance reviews and provide feedback.
Foster a positive and productive work environment.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in the hospitality industry.
Strong understanding of sales principles and techniques.- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze data and assist in developing effective sales strategies.
- Proficiency in sales and CRM software.
Strong organizational and time management skills.- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of the local market and key industry contacts.- Experience with revenue management systems and online booking platforms.
Familiarity with social media and digital marketing strategies.
This position may require occasional travel to attend client meetings, industry events, and conferences.
