Job Summary:
We are currently looking for an Assistant Manager, Business Application who will be supporting the WSM Vessel IT Team. The Assistant Manager, Business Application at Wilhelmsen Ship Management ensures that business applications and vessel IT processes are properly aligned and supported by appropriate systems and tools for optimal operations. This role involves providing 2nd line support to vessels and offices for WSM-provided business applications, monitoring the health of these applications both within WSM and onboard vessels, and initiating corrective actions as needed. Additionally, the role includes distributing vessel applications and patches according to established plans and ad hoc requirements.

Report to: Head of Business Application and Vessel IT
What You'll Responsible For:
Perform solution requirement study, recommendation, deployment and customization
Perform international travel related to vessel IT support cases as required
Develop and maintain user, system and operational documentation WSM applications for vessel and office usages.
Ensure services are delivered according to WSM principles and guidelines for vessel IT support and best practices as applicable
Contribute and ensure vessel IT and WSM applications problem management
Participate in system implementation project onboard the vessels on management
Participate in system implementation projects in WSM onshore when required
Follow up of incidents escalated to 2nd Line.
Follow up and report on task status
To stay professionally updated with regard to technology usage, relevant application usage and best practices
To keep updated with regard to Corporate and WSM values, standards, policies and guidelines
Provide relevant training of WSM staff and seafarers as required
This position will be measured against:
Feedback from Super users, Application Owners and vessel IT users
Evaluation of the training provided
Initiatives taken to prevent recurrence of Application incidents
Quality of the report data and service management logs.
Cost effectiveness of support
Availability of onboard IT infrastructure and systems
Vessels satisfaction with the IT support and on the quality of the routines and efficiency gains in relation to these services
The position will be measured against how well the systems work onboard, how satisfied the end-users are with the services and on the quality of the routines and efficiency gains in relation to these services
Ability to ensure effective resolutions and workarounds for onboard incidents and prevent the recurrence of incidents
Quality of reports, queries created for WSM to support business needs.
Project managed as project manager
Contribution to WSM business application projects
What Experience and Skills Required:
Mandatory Requirements
Good incident management and support skills
Good working knowledge of SQL (MS SQL server preferred)
Good working knowledge of MS SQL server reporting tools.
Good business and process understanding
Structured and solution oriented
Team player
Good communication skills in English.
Be able to work independently, be self-driven, and able to make quick decisions in a hectic work environment
Ability to perform international travel as required
Ability to fulfil relevant visa requirements for international travel
Comply with relevant flag and port state requirements in order to join vessels for onboard assignments
Good knowledge in Server and infrastructure, including Azure Cloud or Amazon Web Service
Database experience preferred
Database certifications or trainings attended.
Experience working with vessel IT solutions
