Purpose of Role: As the Applications Engineer Wear Solutions for Weir, this role will utilise your materials application/engineering expertise and problem solving ability to provide fit for purpose wear materials solutions from selection to trialing and installation in the field.
This role is customer focused and will benefit greatly from a solutions-based individual who thrives on delivering a quality product to new and existing customers, wanting exposure into the sales side of the Weir products.
The Linatex range of rubber and wear materials are an integral part of the mining and processing applications to increase the wear life of equipment while providing customers with the lowest total cost of ownership.

Key Responsibilities:
Identify and develop new opportunities for current and prospective customers.
Review customer specifications and develop complete technical and commercial proposals.
Coordination of field trials for new material developments and designs
Use technical expertise to develop value-adding solutions for customer applications. This will include the selection of materials, development of solutions and presenting the findings to customers.)
On-site technical support, problem solving, installation support and supervision.
Preparation of weekly/monthly business activity reports and periodic sales reports.
Preform sales performance analysis for your customers and market base.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
Engineering qualification, Material Science, Mechanical Trade or equivalent technical trade.
Background in the fabrication / mining / manufacturing industry.
Proven knowledge or research with rubber or ceramic wearing applications
Transferable sales skills with technical capabilities (desirable).
Understanding or exposure to customer needs in a mining/processing environment.
Experience with SAP / Sales Force / Microsoft office packages is advantageous.

Compensation: $115,
- 00 plus superannuation
