Summary
Responsibility in APAC, as the Life Cycle Assessment /Environmental Product Declaration Manager for the preparation (and completion) of Life Cycle Assessments required for Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) while supporting Business Units internal skill development programs regards to Green Building Certification knowledge, System/Building level LCA and Design/Specification efforts.
Responsibilities
- Get ownership of LCA models for EPDs according to ISO/CEN requirements eg: ISO 14025 ,EN 15804,ISO 21930,ISO 14040/14044.
- Conduct annual plant data collection to feed in LCA models and gather bill of materials datasets. Coordinate with Business Unit Sustainability Managers to obtain data.
- Benchmark existing EPDs in our markets.
- Optimize our LCA development process and outcomes. Standardize & automate where possible.
- Develop optimized process for LCA -EPD verification and registration with acceptable program operators.
- Lead the development and implementation of LCA and EPD processes for construction products.
- Sustainability Reporting and Analysis:
- Provide insights and recommendations based on LCA and EPD findings to support product development and improvement.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, marketing, sales, and supply chain, to integrate sustainability practices into product development and marketing strategies.
- Communicate LCA and EPD results and sustainability initiatives to customers, industry stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Represent the company in industry forums, working groups, and sustainability initiatives.
- Increase expertise by Training and Development:
- Provide training and support to internal teams on LCA methodologies, EPD processes, and sustainability practices.
- Stay current with advancements in LCA methodologies, EPD standards, and sustainability trends to ensure the company remains at the forefront of environmental stewardship.
- Provide training as part of our internal development program with regards to Green Building Certification, EPDs in sustainable design and specification.
- Manage the introduction of System/Building LCA software to our specification/design, project teams, through training & skill development programs.
- Be an active member of the Knauf LCA and EPD network.
- Liaise with the Group LCA and EPD Manager.
Required Qualifications
- LEED AP BD+C Building Design and Construction.
- Life Cycle Assessment Certified Professional (LCACP) or ALCAS certification or equivalent.
- Experience in preparing LCA models & data for EPDs.
- Experience in sustainability reporting and data analysis.
- Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken).
- Knowledge of green building standards and certifications.
- Knowledge with Modelling in GaBi or SimaPro software interpreting its results and preparation of its communication is a must.
- Knowledge of System and Building level LCA tools.
- Knowledge in certified management system like ISO 9001 or 14001 to build an EPD management system approach.
