Duty & Responsibilities-Review negative news and OFAC/Watch List/Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) alerts generated by automated systems according to global sanctions screening policy and guidelines and client compliance policy and standard
- Conduct payment and customer Screening against various Sanction lists
- Ability to identify sanctions risks, using the sanctions screening software
- Potential sanctions screening matches are identified, reviewed to identify false positives
- Carry out complex research/investigations to confirm whether the potential matches to Global sanctions lists are actual matches according to laid down guidelines.
- Studying OFAC, UN and externally issued sanctions advisories and news articles highlighting emerging sanctions typologies and specific persons carrying sanctions concerns. Determining whether sanctions controls need to be recalibrated and whether additions must be made to update sanctions screening content.
- Analyze potential matches on customer names/address or payment from local and international business units to make an informed decision,
- Refer and escalate matches accordingly as stipulated in the standard procedure to senior analyst
- Ensure that all alert analysis and investigations are performed within timeframe provided in the policy and procedure stipulated in the SLAs signed with client
Bachelor above degree/University degree/equivalent degree
1 year experience working in AML, Sanction or CDD processes is a plus, ideally within the financial institutions or e-Commerce or MNC or consulting firm etc.
General understand of AML and Sanctions regulations, risks and typologies
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization
Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
CAMS certification is a plus
