Job Description
We are looking for a Sr. Accounting Specialist with 2-5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field. This position is ideal for candidates with a background in funds administration or financial services. The role focuses on NAV calculations, reconciliations, and supporting financial processes for investment funds.
Key Responsibilities:
- NAV Calculation: Assist with daily and periodic Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations for investment funds to ensure accurate valuations and financial reporting.
- Reconciliation Review: Review stock and cash reconciliations to ensure no discrepancies affect NAV calculations. Identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Corporate Actions: Ensure that corporate actions (e.g., dividends, mergers, stock splits) are accurately reflected in the NAVs. Collaborate with relevant teams to implement necessary changes.
- Client Support: Address and resolve client queries promptly and professionally, specifically relating to NAV calculations, reconciliations, and fund administration.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Uphold internal controls, procedures, and regulatory requirements while assessing and mitigating potential risks in day-to-day operations.
Knowledge/Experience:
- Minimum of 2+ years in accounting, finance, or a related field, ideally within financial services or operations.
- Solid experience in fund administration and familiarity with processes related to NAV calculations and fund services.
- Preferred: MBA, CFA certification, or Chartered Accountant (CA) designation.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Access and SQL for data analysis, reporting, and database management.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, etc.) and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
