Overview:
This role offers an exciting opportunity within a fast-paced, multinational environment. We are looking for a leader with extensive finance experience to drive growth and enhance corporate and international finance functions at our company in Penang.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Financial Accounting, your key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing financial accounting functions, primarily in Accounts Payable, including reviewing journal entries and reporting
- Managing vendor invoicing and payment inquiries for both internal and external stakeholders
- Ensuring robust internal controls and compliance with GAAP, as well as international and local regulatory standards for financial and tax reporting
- Maintaining SOX compliance by adhering to internal control requirements, updating documentation, and making recommendations as needed
- Identifying and mitigating risks and potential fraud through effective controls and solutions
- Leading initiatives for process improvement, automation, standardization, and other assigned projects
- Engaging proactively with stakeholders to address challenges, propose solutions, and implement improvements
- Coaching and mentoring team members to enhance skills and performance
- Building collaborative and productive work relationships
- Setting goals and objectives for the team and contributing to the Global Finance Center of Excellence at the organizational level
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and local accounting standards
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge the status quo when needed
- Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of business principles and practices
- Track record of enhancing team performance, improving processes, and driving quality and efficiency in finance functions
- Capability to clearly explain financial matters to non-financial team members
- Commitment to providing excellent service to both internal and external customers, including engagement with audit and statutory bodies
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a degree in Finance or Accounting
- Over 10 years of experience in finance, accounting, and reporting within the high-tech industry
- More than 8 years in a leadership role
- Experience with Ariba, SAP, automation projects, LEAN, 6-Sigma, or RPA
